A tsunami claimed 230,000 lives in 14 Indian Ocean countries five years ago. Memorials and a minute of silence for the victims will be held throughout the region on the anniversary. I was there five years ago to photograph the devestation, this week I have heard via contacts with the charity that I worked with that the re-building is continuing to take place with a new childrens centre due to open this January. I am really pleased to hear this and send my best wishes and hopes for the future to all those wonderful people I met in Tamil Nadu and the friendships I made.
I'm a freelance photographer based in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. I have been a photographer now for over 20 years and I cant imagine doing anything else...images are my life, my love, my passion, I live it and breath it!! I started out doing documentary and qualified as a press photographer in Sheffield but soon realised although its still my passion that I just cant make a living from it so I now shoot sports, portraits, pr and commercial and everything else inbetween.
